THE ROLE
The agency is looking to hire a dynamic and experienced New Business Development Specialist to join their team and help lead sales, drive lead generation activities, and grow the business.
EXPECTATIONS FOR THE ROLE
The New Business Development Specialist is responsible for generating new business. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in sales, with at least 1-3 years of
experience, and preferably a background in B2C marketing and/or PR. Agency experience is a significant asset. The New Business Development Specialist will be responsible for executing the sales activities required to achieve their KPIs, from email outreach, cold calls, existing and new client research, sales target research to closing deals.
The key accountabilities for this role are:
Revenue generation for the agency (finding, qualifying, leading and closing new business development opportunities).
Researching and updating the new business development lead funnel.
Measuring, analysing, reporting and supporting the continuous enhancement of the agency’s new business pitch strategy and approaches.
Proactive industry networking.
The responsibilities of the role will be achieved through:
Lead Generation and Prospecting:
Plan, implement and execute lead gen strategies through various channels, including:
i. Email marketing
ii. cold calling
iii. In-person and online networking
iv. Researching, pitching and booking meetings at trade shows
· Research and outreach to net new potential clients who would benefit from the agency’s services
· Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads.
· Maintain and manage the sales CRM.
· Support marketing material creative development / agency sales tools
i. Case studies
ii. Email marketing materials
iii. Landing pages
iv. Sales decks
v. Sales presentations
vi. RFPs
vii. Strategic and creative plans on spec for potential new client proposals
Sales Process Management:
Responsible for leading the entire sales funnel from initial contact to closing the sale.
Qualify leads based on their needs, budget, and decision-making processes.
Develop and present compelling sales proposals and pitches tailored to the
client's needs.
Client Acquisition:
Secure new clients for short-term paid programs and long-term retainer agreements.
Negotiate contract terms and pricing to ensure mutual satisfaction and profitability.
Establish and nurture strong relationships with clients to foster long-term partnerships.
Collaboration and Reporting:
Work closely with the marketing team to align sales strategies with marketing initiatives.
Provide regular updates and reports to the CEO on sales activities, pipeline status, and revenue projections.
Collaborate with the account management team to ensure a smooth transition and exceptional client onboarding experience.
Market Research and Insights:
Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and market opportunities.
Stay up to date on industry sales contacts, job changes, contact info updates, company launches and other sales and prospecting updates.
Use insights to refine sales strategies and identify areas for growth.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
· Experience: 1-3 years of sales experience, preferably within a marketing or communications agency.
· B2B Expertise: Proven experience in B2B sales is essential.
· Lead Generation: Strong experience in email marketing lead generation and cold calling.
· Experience using prospecting tools (Apollo.io) and CRM systems (Hubspot).
· Experience and understanding of LinkedIn back-end prospecting and email marketing tools
· Sales Process: Demonstrated ability to manage the entire sales process from outreach to closing.
· Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to craft compelling proposals and presentations.
· Negotiation: Strong negotiation skills with a track record of closing deals and meeting sales targets.
· Relationship Building: Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
· Analytical: Strong analytical skills to identify market opportunities and evaluate sales performance.
· Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
SALARY & BENEFITS
$55,000-$75,000 base salary (based on experience) + 5% commission on all new
business deals successfully secured.
2 weeks paid vacation.
Fridays of every Ontario stat long weekend off ( additional 7 days vacation).
Office closed during December holiday season (dates are subject to calendar changes but typically starts Christmas Eve to Jan 2 resulting in an additional 4-5 paid vacation days).
